was introduced to the guitar at the age of five in his his native San Antonio, Texas. His interest in the guitar was encouraged
by his father, who provided him with better instruments as his skill developed. At the age of twelve, he discovered flamenco
music, which captured his interest completely. Without the benefit of formal instruction, Miguel obtained his knowledge and
technique from phonograph recordings of such guitarists as Vicente Gomez and Sabicas. His professional career began at age
fifteen and led to recognition by such artists as Ramon de Algeciras and Manolo Medina.
Today Miguel ranks as one of the most accomplished flamenco guitarists in the USA. He has earned a reputation as an outstanding

the USA, Europe, Japan, and Mexico.
